LAW OFFICES URGENT SUBJECT: WARNING In the name of our clients "Iams pet food International B.V" company, and the company "Vet-magen for pets"(1977) Ltd we are writing to you as follows: 1. Iams pet food international company, is legally registered in Holland and is owned by the Corporation Procter & Gamble Inc, which is legally registered in the US. The above Iams company markets dog food under the commercial name "Eukanuba," and cat food under the commercial name "Iams". Vet-Magen Company is a company that sells food and medicine for pets, and markets in Israel the dog and cat food made by Iams. 2. It came to our clients' attention, that your animal rights group is planning to produce advertisements calling for consumers to avoid buying the products of Eukanuba and Iams because of your assumption that the Procter & Gamble Corporation is allegedly performing experiments on animals. 3. We would like to make it clear that the strict policy of Procter & Gamble – both ideologically and practically – is against product safety testing, and any other form of experiments on animals. The corporation has invested over $120,000,000 for the development of alternatives to animal experimentation and is committed to the well-being and safety of the animals. Enclosed is a paragraph taken from the corporation web site, which relates to the issue in a clear and strict manner. Additional information can be found on the corporation web site and is also available through us or through our clients. The representatives of our clients are willing to meet with you and discuss the issue in the hope that the situation that you have created might be rectified. 4. In conclusion, we are warning you not to advertise, in any manner, in relation to our clients and/or in relation to the Procter & Gamble corporation, and/or in relation to any of their products, including the dog food which is sold under the commercial name "Eukanuba" and the cat food which is sold under the commercial name "Iams", for any of their versions, any advertising which is tying all of them or one of them to experiments on animals. Any advertising, as mentioned above, will be considered as Slander, according to its meaning in the slander ban law ("Hok Lashon Hara", 1965), since it is not the truth and could be damaging to the business of our clients and/or the Procter & Gamble Corporation. 5. We are hereby warning your organization and any one of your representatives to avoid any irresponsible and untrue advertising, as mentioned above, the inevitable result of which will be heavy and irreversible damage to our clients, for which you will be responsible and liable for compensation and reparations. In addition, this advertising would damage the image and credibility of your organization.
