Cruelty Free Product Now Owned by P&G

The extensive line of Aussie hair care products, long touted to be free of animal tests, is now under the ownership of Procter & Gamble.

Aussie continues to label its products as not tested on animals and its website depicts a cute graphic of a kangaroo vigorously shaking his head "No" under the words "We Never Test Our Products on Animals."

Though Aussie's products are not directly tested on animals, the Aussie hair care line is no longer cruelty free as long as profits from its purchase go to P&G, which does continue to test household and beauty products on animals when not required by law.

Please tell Aussie that as long as they are owned by a company that continues to use animals in cruel product tests, they can no longer claim to be free of animal tests. Express your disgust over this discrepancy and tell them you will boycott their products from now on. If you have been using Aussie hair care products, send back the empty bottles to the company. Tell them to be sure to remove their cruelty free claims from both the website and their packages.

Also, ask them to share their knowledge with P&G for manufacturing and developing an innovative line of over 30 products, all of which have been safely developed without reliance on animal tests. If they are able to do so, why can't P&G? Ask Aussie to work along with the compassionate public to convince P&G to abandon animal tests once and for all.

Compassionate shoppers should also be aware of 3 new P&G products to boycott:

  • Torengos torilla chips
  • Thermacare instant heat wraps
  • The Pur water filtration system.
