The Sixth Annual Global Boycott of Procter & Gamble
Saturday, May 25, 2002

In Defense of Animals (IDA) joins activists around the world to oppose Procter & Gamble's (P&G) continued policy of testing household and cosmetic products on animals. These tests are not required by law.

P&G is a multi-billion dollar corporation that continues to blind, poison and kill animals to test deodorants, laundry detergents and other products. Meanwhile, more than 550 companies, including Estee Lauder, Amway, Revlon and The Body Shop, manufacture and develop products without testing them on animals.

P&G boasts of the company having spent $140 million to develop alternatives to animal tests. However, this number stands in stark contrast to the $4.15 billion that P&G spent on just advertising costs alone in 2000.

The numbers tell the real story - in just 12 days P&G spends more on advertising than it has over the past decade to develop and utilize non-animal methods.

This multi-billion dollar corporation has the resources and the ability to eliminate all animal tests today that are not required by law, but it lacks the will. P&G systematically puts profits above ethics, which is why the consumer boycott is so essential.

Join the Boycott of P&G - Don't Buy While Animals Die!!
